Who is Suitable for gastric band surgery

Your Doctor is the only person who can decide if gastric bariatric surgery is right for you. However, there are some criteria that most Physician use when making that decision. These include the following. Having a body mass index (BMI) above 35 or 40+ with other weight-related health issues. you will qualify only if you are between 18 and 55 years of age. If you have tried alternative methods of weight loss programs within the last year with little or no success. If you have a least a record of over 5 years of obesity. You must also understand fully the risks and benefits of gastric bariatric lap band surgery. You should be highly motivated to follow a strict diet and fitness guideline that will probably accompany gastric laproscopic band surgery for long-term weight loss. Some conditions that would make you a poor candidate for gastric band surgery include having an inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal system, or those who are allergic to the materials in the gastric bariatric system, or those can not tolerate an implanted device such as the gastric band. Gastric laproscopic band surgery is not suitable for everyone so please be mindful of this and research the subject and consult your Physician before you set your heart on having the surgery.
